Last night was a long one. Photoshop class, with along side some Sketchbook session. I also rediscovered Shawn Barber again after a leave of absence on my part. I forgot what is was like to paint for myself, than for work. Shawn did that and I thank one of my friends for introducing me to him. Thanks Frankie. Now I have a head of buzzing ideas and so little time to get them down on paper or canvas for myself and everyone.

I live!
But I'm alive and getting more done at work, so I'm doing my best to stay actively writing. One word at a time.

Flabbergasted
I've been in a hiding place for a small time period. Doing research and reading. The past week has been a little rough but I have been productive. I've been taking down ideas and planning a few projects to do for the spring and summer. I'm excited for the work and ideas I have coming up and creating.

Ideas
I find myself building new ideas everyday. The hard part is keeping them long enough to write down. Then flushing out everyone of them. This I find is the best part of being a creative person. I will never run out of ideas, only space to write on paper. So when people ask, " where do you get our ideas from?" My repsonse will be "the Id" lol.

Mystery!
I've been doing some thinking and research. As much as I like to say it, I believe mystery writing will be the genre. I know most writers or authors just let the words take them away. But in my reading if you set out to do a great story with an idea of a situation then the story builds if not writes itself. Some of the best ones really followed this formula. Everyone is different, so I'm not saying one way is better then the other. Just find what works and go with it, let it become natural.

Realization
So I've come to the realization that I can work and do what I enjoy at the same time. Yes, I did not to long ago. But really, not in the way you think either. I know the pathways needed, I know what is needed for thoses paths, and I know what must become of me in the process. Today was a day of reflecting and opening. But know I need to settle on what my future holds for me.

Time to think.
So if you have time, knock your internet out for a day. See what becomes you.
Me, today- no internet. So I'm going to have coffee and do some editing. Then I will make some food and art.
I've been without internet and cable for almost 2 years. I learned that my mind was capable of "many a thing" for the sake of my humanity.
I dare you to try the same.

Writing and editing.
I find it funny. One can learn so much about themselves after a break from a routine. For instance: I took a break from my short stories, letting them germinate ever so politely in my notebook. Weeks had gone by about 6-8 or so. Then I opened them back up, as Stephen King said "like unearthing a fossil. "
In my time I've been learning more and more about the craft, to not make it mine, but to enjoy telling a story. Good ones at that. Doing it right, and learning from mistakes.
"Omit needless words." Strunk and White from The Elements of Style.
Man I feel great when I go back and uncover the fossils I've buried.

Writing
In the process of writing I've learned to calm the mind. It is true that it takes a few paragraphs, or pages to get in to the mode. But I find it very calming. Even after a few hours have passed, I feel accomplished in myself. Then I go to the artwork. Lol.

Feelin fine
Its alawys good to know when you can ask for help. Then in turn do the same. Aspects you knew not of yourself but in your actions as they unfold.
