Writing and editing.

I find it funny. One can learn so much about themselves after a break from a routine. For instance: I took a break from my short stories, letting them germinate ever so politely in my notebook. Weeks had gone by about 6-8 or so. Then I opened them back up, as Stephen King said "like unearthing a fossil. "
In my time I've been learning more and more about the craft, to not make it mine, but to enjoy telling a story. Good ones at that. Doing it right, and learning from mistakes.
"Omit needless words." Strunk and White from The Elements of Style.
Man I feel great when I go back and uncover the fossils I've buried.
